The strip clubs are draining revenues from the casinos. Something has to be done! If you own a huge hotel & casino enterprise, the last thing you want is your male customers heading off to spend money elsewhere.

Sex and sin are definitely back in Las Vegas. Gone are those family-friendly welcoming mats where baby strollers were bumping into the wheelchair-bound slot aficionados.

Now that Las Vegas has become a hip destination for the under-30 elite with spending money, the casinos have to keep their patrons in-house instead of allowing them to roam free sampling the strip clubs.

It is only a matter of time before a Las Vegas hotel/casino has a strip club on its premises.

In the meantime, sexy shows are back with a naked vengeance and a twist. Now audience members are supposed to participate. If you are not flashing your breasts and simulating faux-sex acts with house dancers, why are you in Las Vegas?

First up for my weekend report on the triumphant return of Sin City were drinks at MGM Grand’s ultra lounge Tabu followed by the re-staged Parisian revue “La Femme.” With seven new numbers, it is the most erotic show on The Strip.

The 300-seat La Femme Theater at the MGM Grand was designed in 2001 to re-create the legendary Crazy House nightclub in Paris. All 13 dancers in “La Femme” are members of the original Paris dance troupe. These beautiful women can actually dance. The sensual, provocative choreography is draped in richly colored and textured lighting designs. It is an astonishingly sexy, imaginative show.

Except that the magical eroticism is broken when 2 people manipulating puppets appear. Michael Jackson as a pint-sized puppet alongside a chimpanzee? Isn’t Michael in jail somewhere yet? This segment – why do all Las Vegas shows insist on this? – nearly kills the mood they so cleverly built.

Each dancer has her own solo number and introduces her character and astrological sign. In the finale, all of the dancers perform together against a neon pink and green kaleidoscope of stained-glass images.

Regardless of the Michael Jackson slip of creative judgment, I highly recommend this intimate, sexy show.

Saturday night I attended the opening of Beacher’s Madhouse at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s “The Joint.” Beacher’s Madhouse Summer Series is at “” every Saturday until July 23rd. It is an excessive, voyeuristic (or, if so inclined, participatory) extravaganza suited to every decadent need. The crowd was gorgeous and eager to entertain. It was as if Federico Fellini’s ghost staged a live show and handed out Ecstasy tabs. Lollipops were thoughtfully provided at each table.

There were at least 60 bikini-dressed house dancers, a revelry instigator named Todd, a drag queen, acrobats, contortionists, a dominatrix, a guy struggling to get out of a straight jacket, evil clowns, a little person (Lil’ Tim), and a guy somersaulting around on stilts. This was the pre-show activity where I was sitting. I have no idea what was going on outside the orchestra area. Ice T was in the house! But I didn’t see if his much-photographed wife Coco was with him. There were audience contests: Karaoke Rock Star and Dance Idol Contests. Even though the two girls who wiggled, kissed, and one flashed her breasts twice, they lost the swag and title!

Do not go to the Madhouse in WalMart shorts and sneakers.

I should mention the pre-show show-stopper, Leonard the Magnificent. Leonard is fabulous! Everybody went wild when he turned away from the audience and pulled down his tiny, tight micro-shorts. Celine, Las Vegas has a new diva!

The actual show had better be better than this, right?

Like Commodus entering Rome came host/executive producer Jeff Beacher. He’s fat but does it matter if your payroll checks clear? Beacher, gleefully not steering clear of the Deadly Sin of Gluttony, took the stage. He rotates a hand-selected group of comedians. For the opening night, Madhouse’s comics were Robert Kelly and Jim Norton. I see a lot of Norton on Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.” This is not comedy for your parents.

“LA FEMME” at MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV, (800) 929-1111. Tickets are $59 (drinks not included). Show times are 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Dark every Tuesday. www.Mgmgrand.com.

Beacher’s Madhouse at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino; 4455 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, NV, 702.699.7844. Tickets are $25 (includes one free drink). Doors open at 9 p.m. www.BeachersMadHouse.com.

How long have we waited to see Tony Soprano? House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino hosted an extravagant HBO viewing party on March 6 that featured a 2-hour musical set by Louie, Louie. At 10 P.M., giant screens came down and finally episode #53, “Two Tonys” aired.

The crowd was ready!

Hours earlier my press colleague Polly Peluso and I sat down with Jamie-Lynn DiScala, “Meadow Soprano,” for a leisurely and highly enjoyable afternoon. Jamie-Lynn was in Las Vegas to host the party at the House of Blues, introduce the opening of the series fifth season, and answer questions from the invited guests.

Delicate, gorgeous, and much smaller than she appears on “The Sopranos,” Jamie-Lynn was forthcoming and quite open to all questions. Polly and I were warned not to ask any personal questions, but Jamie-Lynn immediately laughed and said: “What personal questions are off-limits?”

A former Las Vegas homeowner, we quickly sped through Jamie-Lynn’s impressive resume: Six months on Broadway as ‘Belle’ in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” starring in the national tour of Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” marriage to her manager, and the upcoming USA film “Going Down: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss.”

Jamie-Lynn was thrilled to talk about her role as Heidi Fleiss, and, I hope her publicist will not mind, but I’m going to reveal some “personal facts” that Jamie-Lynn volunteered: USA Films will be pushing the envelope with this film. There will be the network version and an “unrated” DVD version (for which Jamie-Lynn had a body-double). Directed by Charles McDougall, “The Rise and Fall” co-stars Brenda Fricker and Corbin Bernsen and will air premiere at the end of March.

The film is the “unauthorized” version of Heidi Fleiss’ story, but Jamie-Lynn had only admiration and high regard for the woman she played. Jamie-Lynn clearly did her homework and sympathized with her character for 28 days. Jamie-Lynn is an authority on Fleiss. According to Jamie-Lynn (and publicist Suzanne Baum who sat in on our afternoon with Jamie-Lynn and has met Fleiss several times), Fleiss is very sweet, intelligent, and highly personable. Jamie-Lynn and Suzanne were quite adamant about Fleiss: She is a seductive, interesting person who got caught up in the underbelly of Hollywood.

It is fascinating to hear about Fleiss through the actress playing her. Jamie-Lynn seems to understand exactly what made Fleiss a success in her chosen business and what contributed to her downfall. The seduction and addiction of celebrity became Fleiss’ undoing and her flamboyant personality was the sole factor that led to her arrest. Jamie-Lynn takes Fleiss from 15 to 27 years of age. The film ends with Fleiss being arrested.

Quite a change from Cinderella, Belle, and Meadow Soprano (who is still a Columbia student volunteering at a free law clinic).

Robert Loggia has a firm place in film dialogue history, right up there with Clark Gable’s “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn!” with two memorable lines from “Scarface”: “Don’t get high on your own supply,” and “Never underestimate the other guy’s greed.”

“The Sopranos” creator David Chase obviously feels the same way we do about Loggia and gives him an opening scene reminiscent of his terrific performance in “Scarface.” The “Class of ’04,” is the name the press has given a gang of organized crime figures released from prison. Tony Soprano’s cousin Tony Blundetto, played by Steve Buscemi, is one of the colorful mob bosses that descend upon New Jersey. They want back in the game. Fans do not need to even see Buscemi to know he will be a rusty nail in Tony’s side.

Paulie Walnuts (Tony Sirico) is my favorite character on “The Sopranos.” In “Two Tonys,” Tony is separated from Carmela (Edie Falco) but still walking in and out of his house. Tony wants to date Dr. Melfi (Lorraine Bracco) and Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli) is furious that he has to always pay for big mob dinners. He is getting tormented by a gleeful Paulie Walnuts.

Has the long delay in the return of “The Sopranos” mellowed the show? I thought so when Tony started “romancing” Melfi. I nearly cringed when Tony quoted Dr. Phil and spoke about how he wanted to touch Melfi’s skin! Tony looked silly, soft, and fat as he kissed Melfi. What was up with that? But wait! Our Tony triumphs! The viewing crowd went wild! Add to this Paulie and Christopher dealing with a waiter and all I can say is: “The Sopranos” is back and ruthless as ever!

at the Suncoast Hotel Casino

Former host for seven years of USA Network’s “Up All Night,” Rhonda Shear, introduced three very funny female comedians to Las Vegas. LeMarie, Vicki Barbolak, and Tammy Pescatelli brought big laughs to the full house at the Suncoast’s Showroom. Rhonda opened the show with a retrospective on her sexpot career that included a Playboy spread and news she finally found a husband on classmates.com.

LeMarie is a “ditsy” San Fernando Valley comedian who says she’s looking for a husband. When an audience member whistled, she cleverly asked: “Do you have property?” She kept teasing the older crowd about viagra and women having to endure sex talk like: “Who’s your granddaddy?”

Full-figured Vicki Barbolak showed off her assets in a hooker animal print skin tight dress. Vicki ended her set by asking all the females present to unite against Asian women – so we won’t be doing their nails in the near future.

The showstopper was Sicilian Tammy Pescatelli. Her set was hilarious and quick-witted. Tammy strutted the stage and didn’t bother to cater her set to the audience. If we didn’t get her jokes, Tammy suggested we watch more episodes of ‘The Sopranos’. She informed us it was a good time to be a Catholic since now “they are grading on a curve.” Again, viagra got mentioned. Tammy thinks viagra is a government conspiracy since they ran out of social security. Old guys are just going to die having sex.

Yes, I was the night’s biggest champion – I laughed hard and often. Shear and her ladies delivered a full evening of fun, audience participation, and threw lots of cheese balls and grapes and Las Vegas trinkets into the crowd. And, to the best audience members in pajamas, dinner for two.

February 13, 2004

People started lining up four hours before the reading. The mob had overflowed to capacity forcing fans to watch the reading on a closed-circuit monitor in the library’s basement. You were given a ticket if you wanted something signed. Even with a pre-reading signing, Palahniuk stayed for hours (my friends left at 11:30 PM and there were still one hundred people behind them on line) signing copies of his books, Fight Club DVD’s, and posters. The reading had ended at 8:30 PM.

Palahniuk’s fans adore him.

Average age of fan: 21 years old. Pre-teens were there. Two pre-teens had 6-inch high shades of green mohawks. Someone was wearing a gas mask. Kids had copies of Playboy magazine (that I had just gotten in the mail that morning).

I was forewarned that Palahniuk was going to read one of his most disgusting, vile stories, the one that has already caused 39 people to faint. It is called “Guts.” You can read it in the latest issue of Playboy magazine. Better yet, go to the official Palahniuk fansite and hunt down a reading by him.

It is vile. It is pure agony to sit through. It is deliciously vulgar. Number 40 fainted.

Even though my husband has often condemned the movie FIGHT CLUB as having “no socially redeeming values,” he begrudgingly came along. Unfortunately for him, the Las Vegas-Clark County Public Library was closed. He had to listen to the reading held in the library’s large auditorium. He was furious every time I shouted and clapped.
He was appalled: “That guy is very disturbed, but entertaining. I hope Portland is keeping a file on him.”

Palahniuk gained notoriety in 1996 with the publication of his book “Fight Club.” He has since written six novels including best-sellers “Choke,” “Lullaby,” and “Diary.” Palahniuk read Chapter Six from “Fight Club,” which was the first thing he wrote. He then read a “postcard” he wrote for a travelogue on Portland. Then came “Guts.”

For the Q&A, Palahniuk came out with two huge boxes filled with rubber hacked-off legs dripping blood and exposing bone. Each questioner got one. A young fan asked Palahniuk when he was agreeing to accept fan mail. Apparently, Palahniuk has placed a moratorium on fan mail. He said he didn’t know when, but for a few days he will accept, read and answer fan mail. He checks postmarks. The mail is so daunting, Palahniuk must be in a certain state of mind. There is an underground network waiting for the slim-days period to be announced. There is not much notice given.

I’ve started my letter to Palahniuk. I want to be ready when the alarm sounds.

Palahniuk is a very seductive personality and this was an opportunity to see how a young speaker enthralls his audience. He has tapped in, like Eminem, to the masturbatory dread of his young male audience. He reveals secrets. He proudly flaunts a necklace of obsessed horrors.

Palahniuk was having a great time. A friend, sitting next to me, hoped Palahniuk would sign his copy of “Fight Club” with his signature salute: “To the best cellmate ever!”

Its Sunday night at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and there is standing room only for the show. Then, just for walking on stage, Peter, Paul, and Mary receive a rousing ovation from the audience, many of whom are products of the 60s. Surely this is an amazing indication of continuing success. For the next hour and forty-five minutes this remarkable trio perambulate down memory lane, much to the delight of the assembled throng, most of whom know the words to every song.

‘Puff the Magic Dragon’, the second song of this performance, first came into my conscious awareness in 1968. Talk about a double entendre, this was it. Commanding a Special Forces camp in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam, Puff was a C-47 gunship that came by at night to rain death and destruction when the Viet Cong attacked. In the midst of that war, while on R&R in Honolulu it became a favorite song of my then seven-year-old son, Marc. It is that connotation that has stuck with me ever since, as it seemed ironic that these staunchly anti-war folk-signers would have such an impact on a warrior. Being relatively naïve at the time, I was not aware of the controversy that arose because some suggested there was a relationship to drugs inferred in the lyrics. That has passed and Puff resounds as a standard in pubs everywhere now.

Encouraged by the trio, the audience joined in on nearly every chorus. Surprisingly to me, the melodies were carried extremely well as the group accompanied. Clearly everyone was anxious to participate with such classics as ‘Leaving on a Jet Plane’, ‘Wayfaring Stranger’, ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright’, and ‘If I had a Hammer’. A sentimental favorite was ‘Where Have all the Flowers Gone’, which is taking on meaning for a new cohort of fans as the world devolves into increasingly chaotic states.

It has been a long time since Peter, Paul, and Mary first gathered together to sing at the Bitter End in Greenwich Village. But in their four decades the trio has inspired folk singers around the world. Similarly the members have continued in their socially conscious activities in many countries. No one can ever accuse them of not being involved in the movements that they sing about. They continue to tour selectively and are perennially welcomed as returning headliners in Las Vegas.

From the heart of Soul to Rock and Roll, The Isley Brothers can still get an audience moving just as they have since their first major hit record in 1959. Most will remember their hit single “Shout,” which was cranked out at full volume as the closing number and leaving the capacity crowd dancing in the isles.

As we’ve mentioned before, when in Las Vegas, be sure to check and see what’s happening at Sam’s Town Live!. This is yet another example of the quality entertainment that can be found off The Strip. It’s always worth both the trip and the price.

Now entering their fifth decade of public performances, The Isley Brothers have a wealth of easily recognized material to draw on as they take you down memory lane. Judging from the exuberant reactions, the audience seemed to be responding both to the music and the personal memories evoked by the meaningfulness of the lyrics. The row behind us sang every word to every song.

Backed by seven talented musicians and the lovely Johnson Sisters, Ronald Isley carries the show with a vocal range to make younger men envious and women quiver. While many singers at his age (Ronald was born in 1939) drop the high notes, Ronald takes them higher with seemingly inexhaustible energy. The M.C. introduced it as a ninety minute show, but Ronald pushed the music for a full two hours.

Of note is a nimble dancer, going by the stage name Aurora, who first enters in a sexy black outfit while Ronald sings their famous hit, “Who’s That Lady?” Luckily for the men in the audience she reappears on several occasions, each time in another provocative costume. One has to admire Aurora’s athletic prowess and obvious self-discipline to stay away from the dinner table. Has that girl been working out or what?

Speaking of audience participation, this show added a new twist. They had members of the audience get hold of the mike and perform. I don’t mean just grunt through a few off-key words, they got into it. In fact, they were so good, and clearly accomplished, that one has to wonder if they were plants. If not, there must be a lot of unrecognized talent in the Las Vegas area! This segment really brought an added excitement to the show.

From “If You Can’t Be With the One You Love, Love the One You’re With”, to “I Got Work to Do,” and “Take Me to the Next Phase,” Ronald Isley, bedecked in a mustard suit and accented with plenty of ice, brought soul to life. His brother, Ernie, on lead guitar, also demonstrated his instrumental virtuosity. In short, if you like soul, you’ll love The Isley Brothers.

We have a friend who is dreaming about building Immortala, a center dedicated to active longevity-a place where you can learn to live forever. If he ever builds it, Jerry Lee Lewis will be his poster child. There is no doubt about it. After more five decades on the top of the charts, Jerry Lee is still going strong.

Punctually the band began exactly as scheduled at eight p.m. First there was a round of numbers in which each member of the four-piece accompaniment became the lead performer. That was a flag to me as it took a full twenty minutes to get the songs. OK, I figured, Jerry Lee, known to his many fans as The Killer, was going to hit the minimum number of licks necessary and clear the stage. I couldn’t have been more wrong. From the time he entered, albeit at a cautious gate, he wowed the audience for another ninety minutes of classic rock and roll-Jerry Lee style.

Despite his age-officially that’s 71 but he likes to shave a few years-he can still run the Ivory’s with the best of them. Of course there’s a twinge of religious revival that sneaks through in his music. He comes by that honestly as he did attend Bible college in Texas before turning totally to his recording career. And then there is his cousin television evangelist Jimmy Swaggart (folks don’t talk about him much any more) who went straight for the pulpit-and a few other notorious things.

By 1957 his second single ‘Whole Lotta Shaken Goin On’, shot to the top of the country charts and remains a classic to this day. That was followed by his signature song, ‘Great Balls of Fire’. Not only did it top the charts, he still closes his act with it and leaves the audience standing and hollering. In fact, it was so well known that it also became the title of a motion picture about his life in 1989. Dennis Quaid portrayed Jerry Lee on the roller coaster that has been both his life and his career.

In his dynamic ninety minutes The Killer touched on a number of his other well-known hits, ‘Chantilly Lace’, ‘Faded Dreams’, ‘Lucille’, ‘Remember Me’ and many others. The band must stay on their toes as he frequently stops a song in near mid-word. It is hard to determine if that’s by design or just what he feels like doing. Several times he mentioned that he forgot the words, but most of the songs come from years of running on autopilot.

Something new emerged at Sam’s Town Live. At all previous concerts there was assigned seating. Therefore we arranged to come fairly close to the time of the performance. This time they had allowed what they call “open seating.” We learned that people started arriving at three in the afternoon just to nail the front seats. If you chose to attend a concert at Sam’s Town Live!, check and see whether or not seating is assigned and plan your arrival accordingly. It’s still one of the best off-Strip deals in Vegas.

“Does this guy ever have fans or what?” That was the comment my spouse made after enjoying the George Jones concert at the recently created entertainment center called Sam’s Town Live! The newly expanded 13,000 square foot room holds 1,100 seats and was sold out days before the event by a near-fanatical audience. They knew the words and vigorously sang along with the seasoned entertainer known to them as The Possum.

Both Jones and his fans are well aware of his history of alcoholism and family problems that led to disappointment with many audiences across the country. In fact, fifteen minutes before the concert was to start a man stunned the crowd by simply stating that he had an announcement about George Jones. As the audience hushed expecting the worst he simply said, “George Jones is here.” There was both relief and exuberation. After all he is still known as “No Show Jones.”

The hard times seem to be well behind him and he even uses the words on his tee shirts and other paraphernalia that are gobbled up by adoring fans. Although Jones makes many comments leading people to believe he longs for a hard drink, he has been off the bottle for a long time – well over a decade – and he can captivate an audience who are quite willing to forgive the past.

Jones has been picking and singing since he was nine years old and signed his first record contract in 1955. His style is pure country and he makes no bones about it. Pushing 70, a birthday he will hit this year, George Jones’ voice is nearly indistinguishable from that of over forty years ago. And what a career it has been. He first hit number one on the country charts in 1959 with “White Lighting” although he had come close in 1956 with “Why Baby Why”. Twice he has won Grammies, though twenty years apart. In 1980 he was country vocalist of the year with the ever-popular “He Stopped Loving Her Today”. Then, in 1999 he won again with “Choices”. Performing both at this concert he received standing ovations.

Throughout the concert George is supported by the seven member, and very talented, Jones Boys. Featured, and not to be missed, are the adroit fiddle renditions of “Black Mountain Rag” and “Fire on the Mountain” played by the legendary Jim Buchanan.

The venue for these concerts is relatively new. Sam’s Town has long offered off-strip entertainment and is known as “Where Locals Bring Their Friends.” In 2000 Sam’s Town added a unique multi-functional entertainment center that can be conformed to meet varying performance requirements. They are now frequently offering top-notch concerts such as George Jones. If you’re coming to Las Vegas you would be well served to check and see who might be performing at that time. If not, watch for George Jones as he tours the country. If he performs near you and you like country music, don’t miss him.

Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, 5111 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, Nevada 89122. 702.456.7777. Tickets to all events at Sam’s Town Live! can be purchased through Tickets.com

When you’ve got them dancing in the aisles, I’d say you have a hit concert. Thus it was with the Neville Brothers performing at Sam’s Town Live, the off-strip place to be in Las Vegas. Their devoted followers filled the auditorium singing, shouting, clapping, and even waving handkerchiefs in New Orleans fashion.

The Neville Brothers, Art, Charles, Cyril, and Aaron are supported by five other excellent musicians, many of whom have been performing with them for years. While some of them began playing earlier, the family group first formed as The Wild Tchoupitoulas in 1976. It was a name taken from their uncle Jolly who was a fabled Mardi Gras Indian Chief.

Their New Orleans upbringing bleeds through their unique style, a cross of rock and roll and rhythm and blues, intermingled with unmistakable Louisiana jazz from the French Quarter. They have coalesced around Art Neville, the oldest brother whose keyboard wizardry earned him the title of Poppa Funk. To remind you how proud he is of that, Art has it emblazoned across the front of the stage. As founder, Art has been performing for over four decades and can reach back to their legacy or be as contemporary as today.

Of course, it’s Aaron Neville who nearly steals the show with his gorgeous voice and star presence. He does his Grammy-winning hits (recorded with Linda Ronstadt and Trisha Yearwood), as well as his classic 1966 ballad, “Tell It Like It Is.”

In the 1980s the Neville Brothers won two Grammys for “Fiyo on the Bayou” (1981) and “Yellow Moon” (1989). Having a sense of humor, they close the show with something still familiar since it debuted in the 1950s: it starts with M-I-C-K-E-Y-and you know the rest.

If you’re looking for a show with high energy, and a lot of soul, the Neville Brothers are it. Watch for them to return to Sam’s Town Live!, or when appearing near you. Remember, when in Las Vegas, be sure to check and see what is playing at Sam’s Town.

Sam’s Town Live!, 5111 Boulder Highway Call (702) 450-8300 for upcoming headliner entertainment and club information

DETAILS: Sam’s Town Live!, an 1,100 seat event center, is part of a recent $86 million expansion at Sam’s Town. Also part of the expansion is Century 18 Sam’s Town, an all-stadium, all-THX cinema complex; the Firelight Buffet; expanded casino area; and fully renovated casino area.

It’s a great gig if you can get it. Bitch, bitch, bitch, and, people pay to listen to you. Most of us bitch about the state of the world and get told to shut up by friends who already know what the problems are. Bitching is the easy part. Finding solutions is far more difficult. Still George Carlin has made an enviable career and still has drawing power. It is one that has been built on his abject irreverence and the limited mental faculties of his audiences.

Two years ago we saw George Carlin here in Las Vegas. Now he has returned for a two-week engagement filling in for a Strip show that is in transition. Carlin said the show would be half old material and half new material. He lied. After two years the current show is about ninety percent the old show-word for word. Frankly, it wasn’t all that funny the first time.

When he finally did get to the “new material” he literally picked up the script from the table and read it to the audience. The entire sequence lasted about five minutes and could be memorized by any good actor in a few hours – tops. Besides, I’m not sure where he got the material but I’ve heard it before. It deals with condensing the Ten Commandments down to just two. They are: “Be honest,” and, “Don’t kill anybody who doesn’t need it” (or words to that effect).

For reasons unknown, there were quite a few people in the audience who seemed quite amused. It was hard to tell if they really thought it was a funny routine or if they had paid too much money and were bound to prove they were enjoying themselves.

Although this was an adult audience, much of the humor is aimed at the fourteen-year-old level. You know, fart jokes. Yes, there were the obligatory bodily excretion commentaries as well. In order to appeal to the mental capabilities of the older set, vulgarity is elevated to four syllables instead of just four letters.

Bottom line is that Carlin has nothing positive to offer about anything. But if you are a fan you already know that. However, you also know most of the routine by heart as well. My suggestion is don’t spend your money on the show. Just wait for the next HBO special and you won’t miss a thing. It will cost a lot less and you won’t have to publicly admit that you enjoyed the show.

(If you are a George Carlin devotee, be alerted that what are considered his two best tv specials have been released on one DVD from Columbia/Tri Star – George Carlin Double Feature: Jammin’ in New York + Don’ It Again. The Spanish subtitles should be interesting…)
